What is God doing in your life today, and what are you thankful for?
I am truly grateful for our parents. We were raised in a home where we were taught the importance of prayer, reading God’s word, and fellowship with other believers. Friday night vigils were a constant in our home for as long as I can remember. Believers would gather to pray through the night, and even though we didn’t fully understand the significance at the time, we joined in. Little did we know, we were being shaped as prayer warriors. 😊
Sunday school was non-negotiable for us, even on Christmas day. I recall one Christmas when Dad threw out our Christmas tree because we were running late for church while still decorating it. Haki Daddy. 😊
As the firstborn, I often carried the weight of my siblings’ missteps. Mum’s look was enough to sting more than any punishment, signaling that a lesson was coming, followed by family devotion time without fail.
When I reflect on these experiences, I see God’s faithfulness in our lives. Our parents were deeply committed to God, and their devotion shaped us during our formative years. We are who we are because God used them to lay a strong foundation.
As parents, we have the responsibility to raise children who honor God. The choices we make in our parenting today will bear fruit in the years to come.
What seeds are we planting in our children’s lives? What legacy are we creating for them? What influences are we allowing them to embrace? 🌄
