Give Yourself Permission to Change Your Mind
It’s okay to change your mind when something no longer serves you. For some, like me, shifting gears isn’t easy—it can feel like the stars and moon need to align before I consider a new direction. Once I’ve set my heart on something, I can defend my idea as if it’s the best this side of the Sahara, north of the Limpopo River! That’s the Choleric side of me talking.
Over time, I’ve come to understand that some ideas, strategies, and decisions simply don’t stand the test of time. Circumstances evolve, environments shift, and what once seemed perfect may no longer be viable. It takes humility and intentional courage to accept this, embrace change, and find joy in a new journey.
Sometimes, we find ourselves stuck—whether in jobs, businesses, relationships, habits, or even mindsets—that no longer work. Despite the pain, frustration, or fear we feel, we hesitate to let go and start anew. Yet, we are not called to live in fear or timidity. We have been given a spirit of power, discipline, and a sound mind.
We possess the ability to reflect, think differently, and seek honest feedback from our support systems. We can evaluate how we’ve been doing and identify ways to improve. This is our opportunity to:
- Set new goals and muster the courage to pursue them.
- Focus on what aligns with our strengths and let go of what doesn’t.
- Keep what works for us and release what doesn’t.
Above all, prioritize what truly matters. Let’s take that first step toward transformation and fulfillment.
